Fuzz

For now I call him Fuzz. I suppose 'spirit' would best describe what he is. He was called into being after the the forest he now lives in burned, protecting it from anything that could disrupt the slow progress of its growing back. I also call him a he even though he is genderless. I just don't like to call him 'it'. Fuzz is comprised of bits of animals that perished in the fire. His coat is not a uniform color, although he looks mostly like a very large deer. In earlier sketches he had wolf or coyote ears, and a longer bushy tail. Since he's made of dead things he's not really alive, so he feels no pain.

When something comes onto the land that doesn't belong there he stalks it until it leaves, or kills it. Leaving the body to decompose and feed the growing forest. He can be seen, but usually stays hidden by whatever he is hunting, although they can feel a presence near them, and they usually grow frightened and leave.

As the forest grows back and can support life again, he allows more and more animals to stay instead of driving them out. Those allowed to stay are not afraid of him. However he is solitary and does not seek out the animals, but they know they are in no danger if they should cross his path. Usually there is a greater population of life in an area of the forest he is in since they feel his close presence means greater safety.

He is as old as the new forest that is growing.

Since he is technically dead, and called into being for the purpose of protecting the growing forest, as the forest grows and begins to no longer need him, he begins to decompose as well.

I'm still working out his story and such, but this is basically my idea for him.
